Survival training for select Air Force career fields ramped up in the post-9/11 world, and the Air Force’s new push to extend such training to all airmen means an even greater workload. A new CSAF’s Scope entry from Gen. Michael Moseley focuses on this “emerging requirement,” saying “look for developments” in survival, evasion, resistance, and escape training. Col. Jeffrey White, head of the 336th Training Group at Fairchild AFB, Wash., home to SERE training central, told The Spokesman Review, “We are a growth business in today’s world.”
Air Force F-16s from Germany Deploy to Middle East

As tensions spiral in the Middle East, U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons from Germany have flown to the region, U.S. Central Command said Oct. 25. The F-16s are from the 480th Fighter Squadron at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, and represent some of the service’s most advanced models.
