The Myers Board

The Pentagon unveiled a portrait and legacy board April 24 celebrating the 15th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers. At the ceremony, the current Chairman, Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace, remarked that over his six years of service with Myers, he found that Myers “truly, honestly cares for those in his charge.” Myers called his time as Chairman—which encompassed 911, the start the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, tsunami relief in the Pacific, and more—“fulfilling because you get to represent the men and women of the United States military.” He added that there is no better group in this country.
