With Air Force Reserve Command deactivating its 913th Airlift Wing at NAS JRB Willow Grove, Pa., many military and civilian personnel are signing on with the Air National Guard. Lou Sessinger of The Intelligencer reports that many of them are joining the Air Guard’s 166th Airlift Wing in Delaware. He notes that Air Reserve boss, Lt. Gen. John Bradley, is encouraging the move.
Air Force Gen. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost—a trailblazer and one of the first 10 women to reach a four-star rank across the U.S. military—retired and passed control of U.S. Transportation Command to Air Force Gen. Randall Reed on Oct. 4, finishing an eventful tenure at TRANSCOM.
