Col. Duane Lamb received two honors when he accepted a Bronze Star during opening ceremonies for the University of Alabama—his alma mater—and Auburn University football match on Nov. 18. Lamb, who earned his commission through ROTC at Alabama 30 years ago, received his medal before some 90,000 football fans and his “whole family,” which he called “an incredible experience.” The Air Force awarded Lamb the medal for his service in Iraq as commander of the 732nd Expeditionary Mission Support Group,
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
