Spang Tries Production Line Maintenance: Mechanics at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, have adopted a production-line method to work on the base’s F-16 engines and expect the nearly month-old changeover to reduce flow days and make the process more predictable. The goal of the 52nd Component Maintenance Squadron’s propulsion flight is to turn out an engine every 30 hours, cutting the time in service almost in half and moving 95 power plants each year, Capt. Alysun Kossow, flight commander, told USAF journalist Louis Arana-Barradas.
