There’s a news report in the Korea Times that says USAF pilots in South Korea, principally those flying out of Osan Air Base, may have a new training range soon, courtesy of the South Korean air force. (DR, 10/19/05) The bad news is the South Korean air force has to regroup its training sites and reschedule its training. However, South Korean defense officials say that’s not a problem. We probably will never know if the letter-writing campaign by USAF pilots greased the sticky wheels of international cooperation.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
