The Switch to Seoul Is On: South Korea may call for an end to the South Korea-US Combined Forces Command when Seoul assumes operational control of its own military during wartime. According to the Korea Times, Defense Minister Yoon Kwang-ung confirmed that the two allies are working on the wartime transfer of responsibility and other options to include disestablishing the CFC. He would not acknowledge that both parties had settled on a date.
