The Air Force has once again topped the list of the largest US “green” power purchasers, in the Environmental Protection Agency’s quarterly update of the top 25 “Green Power Partners.” The federal government is the largest consumer of “green” energy—generated by renewable sources such as wind, solar, and hydroelectric power, and the Air Force has been at the top of the list since September 2004. Each of the top 25 public and private companies use more than two million megawatt hours of green power annually.
