Maj. Gen. Wade Farris assumed command of Air Force Reserve Command’s 22nd Air Force at Dobbins ARB, Ga., succeeding Maj. Gen. James Rubeor. “My wife, Kim, and I are excited about this job and excited about being a part of the Reserve family here,” said Farris during Monday’s change-of-command ceremony. “We’ve spent about 20 years of my career in 22nd Air Force, so I may be a little prejudiced, but I think 22nd is the premiere numbered air force.” Farris comes to the 22nd AF leadership post from Robins AFB, Ga., where he served for a year as AFRC’s director of air, space, and information operations. Rubeor, who led 22nd AF since April 2009, moves to his new assignment at Peterson AFB, Colo., where he’ll be special assistant to the NORAD commander and US Northern Command commander for Reserve matters.
