Three Argentine Air Force officers have finished a week-long visit at Moody AFB, Ga., where the pilots exchanged information about training techniques and procedures with instructors of Moody’s 479th Flying Training Group. It follows a visit by four Argentine pilots last year when they wanted to gain technical knowledge about advanced avionics to augment plans to upgrade the AAF’s IA-63 Pampa aircraft. According to Capt. Juan Sabalua, this visit was purely to pick up tips about how to instruct student pilots using the newer avionics. The Argentine pilots also shared their techniques with Moody airmen.
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
