The Servicemember’s Group Life Insurance program now covers traumatic injuries—called TSGLI. It automatically provides coverage up to $100,000 for anyone insured by SGLI for a flat monthly premium of $1. It’s also retroactive, by Public Law 109-13, for “qualifying losses” suffered between Oct. 7, 2001 and Dec. 1, 2005, if they were due to injury from service in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
