Due to the success of the cyber-security boot camp now held every summer in Rome, N.Y., the Air Force Research Laboratory decided to bring the cyber class to high schools around the area. Technology teachers from high schools and Mohawk Valley Community College were trained at the Griffiss Institute to prepare them to teach the cyber-security course. Syracuse University will offer the course through its Project Advance, which provides college courses to high schools students. The curriculum will include sniffing, password cracking, preparing for and detecting attacks, and digital forensics as well as ethical and legal aspects of cyber defense.
