It seems that at least one party—Horsham Township manager Michael McGee—is not necessarily pleased by the deal struck by Pennsylvania’s governor and Congressional delegation that would ultimately turn Willow Grove over to the state. The Intelligencer reports that McGee, who was part of a group that would decide how to market surplus Willow Grove property, has called the effort an “attempt to circumvent the BRAC process.” He blames the Air Force. However, he should focus on his state officials, who pushed the endeavor, finally winning USAF acceptance.
The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
