Defense analysts and reporters commenting on the bipartisan Iraq Study Group report—to be publicly released Wednesday—say it offers something for both Democrats and Republicans. For Democrats, there is the proposal to pull out combat units by 2008; while for the Administration, there is a caveat that would hinge any withdrawal on conditions not time.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
