The Air Force has merged the Air Force Doctrine Center with the College for Aerospace Doctrine, Research, and Education to form the Air Force Doctrine Development and Education Center. The former Doctrine Center boss, Maj. Gen. Allen Peck, now heads the new AFDDEC, in addition to remaining Air University vice commander. The new center’s charter comprises leading development of operational-level doctrine and establishing USAF’s position in joint and multinational doctrine. And, it also has to carry on the CADRE role, which involved providing some educational courses, running media training for general officers, and hosting the Warfare Studies Institute.
The 301st Fighter Wing in Fort Worth, Texas, became the first standalone Reserve unit in the Air Force to get its own F-35s, welcoming the first fighter Nov. 5.
