As part of the Air Force’s commemoration of its 60th anniversary, Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne launched a special 60th anniversary artwork exhibit at the Pentagon last week. Several Air Force Art Program artists attended the small ribbon-cutting event. Among them was renowned aviation artist Keith Ferris, who said that the artists in the program “have a real responsibility to do a painting that is going to last for 200 years or more.” The special exhibit is located in the Air Force-maintained section of the Pentagon.

Joint Base Andrews opened its flightline this month to thousands of civilians, exposing a normally restricted airbase that regularly hosts the president and foreign dignitaries to a curious public eager to see current and historic military aircraft up close and in action.
