Air Force F-16s landed this past week at a military base in Serbia on a visit as part of US and Serbian military cooperation, reports Agence France Presse news service. And, it was just seven years ago that US airmen fought a 78-day air war over Slobodan Milosevic’s Serbia as part of the NATO-led Operation Allied Force. The Milosevic-less Belgrade has opted to join NATO’s Partnership for Peace program.
Amid NATO’s continued push to ramp up air defenses in Eastern Europe, Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall swung by seven allied countries to boost relations last week, including those on Russia’s and Ukraine’s doorstep.
