According to a survey by The Gallup Poll, the American public believes that Washington political leaders pay far too little attention to military veterans. They rank them at the bottom of a list of 14 groups or categories, including defense contractors. More than half of the respondents believe defense contractors get too much attention. The poll was taken March 26-29, shortly after the news surfaced of problems for outpatients at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
