The Air Force has awarded a Bronze Star Medal to Capt. Kevin Fischer, a physician assistant with Air Force Special Operations Command’s 1st Special Operations Support Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla., for his actions during a 10-month deployment to Iraq. TSgt. Kelley Ogden reports that Fischer provided emergency medical care during several mass and multi-casualty situations. He also led a joint forces team training Iraqi Army physicians, nurses, and medics.
The Air Force has finished modifying and testing the new VC-25B Bridge aircraft that will serve as a temporary Air Force One, the service announced May 1. All that’s left now is to finish painting the jet before it starts flying this summer.
