Gen. Duncan McNabb, head of Air Mobility Command, presided over a ceremony this week at Ft, Dix, N.J., renaming the former Air Mobility Warfare Center the “Air Force Expeditionary Center.” AMC activated the AMWC on May 1, 1994, and streamlined and reorganized it in 2003. McNabb said the decision to change the name of the center came from other decisions, such as aligning all warfare centers under one center and realizing this one shouldn’t be ‘air mobility.’
The 301st Fighter Wing in Fort Worth, Texas, became the first standalone Reserve unit in the Air Force to get its own F-35s, welcoming the first fighter Nov. 5.
