Everett Views Space Cadre as Most Important: Rep. Terry Everett (R-Ala.), chairman of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee, called for an update on the status of the Air Force’s effort to develop a “space cadre,” saying “nothing can be more important for the success of our space programs than the development of a competent and capable force of space professionals.” He noted that “numerous studies” had “identified a deficit” in this area. Everett deems it “critical” to “aggressively address this shortfall.”
