Gen. Lance Lord, head of Air Force Space Command, tells us that conditions are auspicious for commercial space sector business and for the commercial and military space sectors to find a common ground that will benefit both. So, will there be more cuts to military space programs? “There’s no doubt we have to be prepared,” Lord says. But, he adds, “I’m confident we’ll be able to work with the dollars we get; … we’ve got a strategy that’s going to give us some flexibility.”
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
