The Air Force launched the “I am an American Airman” campaign on Monday, which spotlights “the vast accomplishments airmen have made throughout history,” states a Sept. 9 release. The new recruiting strategy brings back the service’s advertising slogan of “Aim High” from the late 1990s. The campaign highlights airmen’s accomplishments and “the wide range of opportunities and career fields available in the Air Force,” states the release. It will also air three commercials in prime time on major cable networks and during the NFL season. The first commercial features Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh, one includes excerpts from former Presidents’ Air Force Academy commencement speeches, and the last features airmen from Air Force bases around the US.
